Who are we?

The Petal Pressery is run by Aviva Needle, who has always been a lover of flowers (who isn’t?) and making her own arrangements for both her home and events. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Aviva began pressing the flowers growing on her own property and using them in original designs. She received so much encouragement after sharing them on social media that she decided to turn her hobby into a business. Now, she enjoys making her own creations or being commissioned to design someone else’s pressed floral fantasy. Aviva is a mother to four children and is about to make a move with her husband and kids from St. Louis, MO to Chicago, IL.

What Do We Offer?

Have a wedding bouquet or other special flowers you wish you could save forever? We create original pressed flower artwork and preserve flowers from special occasions to let those beauties last forever in your home or the home of a loved one. We also have a selection of original pressed flower artwork to decorate your home. What is Flower Pressing?

Flower pressing is an age-old technique of literally pressing a flower flat using some kind of weight. It simultaneously is removing water from the flower or plant, drying it and preserving it. Traditionally, heavy books or flower presses are used, but you can even press flowers using a microwave or iron (the quickest, though not necessarily most successful method!).

Pricing

Prices vary depending on the type and size of the artwork. Small, 6×8 originals start at $25, while a bridal bouquet can go up to $250. Please get in touch with us for specific pricing questions.
